Trollwood Performing Arts School, located at Bluestem Center for the Arts, is a unique arts organization committed to providing high quality arts education, exceptional community entertainment, and serves as a community events and exposition center.

Trollwood serves as the managing arm for Bluestem Center for the Arts, a world-class facility headquartered in Moorhead, MN. The campus includes river views, grassy meadows, woods and wildlife, outdoor stages, a 2,500-seat amphitheatre, and the beautiful Marcil Commons which serves as an educational center and rental space including warm, knotty pine rooms with beautiful park views.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR: TROLLWOOD PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL 2021

Join professionals from across the nation at Trollwood Performing Arts School, a unique youth arts organization producing a high quality Broadway-style musical production each summer in outdoor amphitheater located at Bluestem Center for the Arts in Moorhead, MN. Seeking Technical Director for 2021 Mainstage Musical directed by Michael Walling, NYC based regional theatre director and artistic director for Trollwood. Technical Director will produce all working drawings for construction of scenic elements, designed by Jack Mehler, NYC based stage and lighting designer for Trollwood Performing Arts School. Degree in technical theatre and minimum 3 years experience as Technical Director. Expertise in carpentry, stagecraft, welding, rigging, drafting, and shop management. Supervises professional team of 5-8 professionals in addition to student crews and volunteers.

 

The 2021 production will be Cinderella which was postponed from 2020 due to COVID. Cinderella design drawings are complete as well as an initial budget and some technical drawings. Technical Director contract will begin this fall to complete planning, budgeting, and technical drawings. Onsite construction to begin in May, 2021 for opening in July, 2021. Contract to end August 6, 2021. Trollwood is not affiliated with any unions.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to handle visual analysis and complete visual creation assignments as related to essential job functions listed above, to effectively represent Trollwood.
