Trollwood Performing Arts School, located at Bluestem Center for the Arts, is a unique arts organization committed to providing high quality arts education, exceptional community entertainment, and serves as a community events and exposition center.

Trollwood serves as the managing arm for Bluestem Center for the Arts, a world-class facility headquartered in Moorhead, MN. The campus includes river views, grassy meadows, woods and wildlife, outdoor stages, a 2,500-seat amphitheatre, and the beautiful Marcil Commons which serves as an educational center and rental space including warm, knotty pine rooms with beautiful park views.

Trollwood Performing Arts School’s youth programs are committed to providing high quality performing arts education and exceptional community entertainment.

Since 1978, thousands of young people have spent their summers learning, growing, and making friends at Trollwood. Trollwood offers nine annual arts education, youth leadership and performance programs.

The school deliberately incorporates the outdoors because it is our belief that a connection to the natural environment fosters creativity, self-discovery, and an understanding of a healthy way of being alive. With nature as a model, students gain a better appreciation of the value of diversity, adaptability, cooperation, and interdependence.

Box Office Agent/Office Assistant 2021

Contract Dates: Contract dates vary, including both part-time and full-time hours. Full-time position begins May 17-August 13. Part-time position available starting in June, with possible full-time hours throughout the month of July through early August. Must have the ability to work weekends during three-week run of Mainstage Musical in July.

Summary: Primary responsibilities include providing excellent customer service to Trollwood patrons while selling tickets for the Trollwood Mainstage Musical. Must have excellent phone skills. Ticket sales will be conducted in person, as well as over the phone. In addition, assist in selling tickets for other Trollwood productions, such as Totally Trollwood Musical, Trollwood Children’s Theatre, and Trollwood Players. Provide clerical support to all departments including public reception, word processing, data entry, filing, photocopying, public relations, and mailings. Assist with setup and execution of all Trollwood special events. Requires attention to detail, excellent people skills, and a high level of organization.

Facilities and Grounds Technician

Contract Dates: Full-time; Contracts vary, ranging from May 1 through August 31, 2021; typical contracts, May 17-August 13.

Summary: Under the direction of the Lead Custodian, assist in the maintaining the buildings and grounds of the Bluestem facility. The position entails things such as cleaning, mowing, trimming, setting up for classes and events, and preparing housing spaces for incoming staff. Schedules vary, including occasional weekend work.

Marketing Assistant

Summary: Assist marketing department with all functions of public relations, communications, social media, and distribution of marketing messages. Help with the creation of a weekly newsletter for Trollwood families. A background in writing and social media knowledge is a plus. Assist in creation of electronic and digital media, including videography, photography, and graphic design. Provide clerical support other departments, as needed, including public reception, word processing, data entry, filing, photocopying, public relations, and mailings. Assist in the setup and execution of all Trollwood special events. Requires attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.

Summary: Provide assistance to the Operations & Rentals Manager, helping oversee details related to the day-to-day operations of Trollwood Performing Arts School and Bluestem Center for the Arts. Assist in organizing and executing the details related to special events, registrar duties, concessions management, facility rentals, public reception, and other office related needs. Requires attention to detail, excellent people skills, and a high level of organization. Must possess initiative and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
