Cast auditions for Disney’s “Frozen” will be held February 21-25 inside the Marcil Commons at Trollwood. Students can sign up for an audition slot by calling (218) 477-6500 or emailing trollwood@fargo.k12.nd.us!

Individual audition appointments will be held on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22. After these initial auditions, a selected group of students will be invited to participate in callback sessions held over the following days. Not all students who audition will receive a callback.

Auditioners are asked to prepare a 32-bar memorized cut of a musical theatre song in a style similar to Frozen. The song should showcase the performer’s vocal and acting abilities. They may choose any song they like or choose from a pre-selected audition cut from “Frozen,” provided here.

Frozen performance dates are set for July 20-25 and July 28-August 1. Rehearsals will begin on June 5 with a kick-off event on June 4. View the full rehearsal schedule here. This rehearsal schedule may be subject to change.

There will also be opportunities for students to participate in the Mainstage Musical as a member of the orchestra or as a technician. Dates and times for orchestra auditions are still to be determined. Students may participate as a run crew member or technician by registering for summer programming, which will open on January 7.

Trollwood is providing optional training opportunities to support students in their preparation for Mainstage Musical auditions through Trollwood Winter Academy and mini-mentoring sessions with the Mainstage Musical music director.

Music Director Dr. Kristin Griffeath, will provide free optional mini-mentoring sessions for students from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 4 and from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 7. She will meet briefly one-on-one with students to shape an audition cut that suits their voice, offer guidance on a previously prepared song, and share tips to feel confident in the audition. Trollwood Winter Academy’s Musical Theatre Audition Prep course features a blend of vocal music instruction and dance instruction led by vocal instructor Katie Damico and dance instructor David Triptow to ensure that students are prepared to impress at their next audition. Classes are scheduled every Sunday from 2-5:15 p.m. from January 11 through February 15. Trollwood Winter Academy registration is now open here.
