Trollwood Performing Arts School is proud to announce its 2020 Mainstage Musical, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Trollwood invites audiences to step into this stunning storybook fairytale, where no dream is too big, and no act of kindness is too small. Trollwood’s production of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is proudly sponsored by Bell Bank.
“An amazingly talented team of artists, led by Artistic Director, Michael Walling, will be guiding our students through an educational process that will culminate with a beautiful, romantic, family-friendly production of the classic fairytale, Cinderella,” states Kathy Anderson, Executive Director of Trollwood and Bluestem.
Performance dates are set for July 16-18, 22-25, 29-31 & August 1st, 2020 at Bluestem Center for the Arts, home of Trollwood Performing Arts School, 801 50th Ave S, Moorhead, MN. Discounted group sales are currently open and are available for the purchase of 10 or more tickets on a single performance night. In addition, tickets will be available for purchase online only beginning Wednesday, April 1, 2020. The general Trollwood Box Office and Hornbacher’s general admission sales open on June 1, 2020.
Cast auditions will be held February 29 through March 3, 2020. Orchestra auditions will take place March 11-14, 2020. All auditions are open to students currently in grades 8 through 12 and students may sign up for an audition time slot by calling 218-477-6500. In addition, students may participate as a run crew member or technicians by registering for summer programs beginning November 25, 2019.

Enrollment for Trollwood Performing Arts School’s Winter Academy is NOW OPEN! Trollwood is proud to introduce a variety of new youth education programs, including pre-school opportunities, beginning in January 2020. These fun and unique classes in music, dance, film and theatre are open to students ages 3 -18. Students auditioning for Trollwood’s 2020 Mainstage Musical, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella are encouraged to sharpen their auditioning skills by enrolling in Trollwood’s Musical Theatre Audition Workshop (Jan. 26) or by participating in our Musical Theatre Audition Prep, multi-session class. Synopsis from The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization: Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” alongside a hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane as well as some new characters, and surprising twists.
Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella was twice re-made, first in 1965 for Lesley Ann Warren and then again in 1997 featuring Brandy and Whitney Houston. The original Broadway production opened in 2013 and starred Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Victoria Clark and Harriet Harris.
